A native of County Down, Ronnie attended Annadale Grammar School in Belfast. Eager to pursue a career in law, he began his degree at Queen’s University in 1988 before graduating in 1992 and thereafter from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in 1994, completing his training in a small country practice whose Principal has since been elevated to the bench.

Ronnie joined Murlands as an associate Solicitor in 1995 before being appointed Partner in 2005.

Ronnie works primarily in the firm’s defence litigation department which takes him all over the province and he also represents a wide range of clients in relation to criminal law, PACE, family and matrimonial cases and debt collection, and has gained a long-established reputation for representing clients who  have found themselves in difficult situations.

He can assist at police station interviews and represent clients in all of the local courts. Since 2012 Ronnie has been a member of the Children’s Order panel of solicitors which was set up and is regulated by the Law Society of Northern Ireland.

In his spare time Ronnie is a huge fan of football and rugby and a regular attender at Northern Ireland football and Ulster Rugby matches. He also enjoys cooking and DIY.
