A native of County Down, Ronnie attended Annadale Grammar School in Belfast. Eager to pursue a career in law, he began his degree at Queen’s University in 1988 before graduating in 1992 and thereafter from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in 1994, completing his training in a small country practice whose Principal has since been elevated to the bench.

Ronnie joined Murlands as an associate Solicitor in 1995 before being appointed Partner in 2005.

Throughout his career Ronnie has represented a wide range of clients in relation to ligation matters, criminal law, PACE, family and matrimonial cases and debt collection, and has gained a long-established reputation for representing clients who have found themselves in difficult situations. Since 2012 Ronnie has been a member of the Children’s Order panel of solicitors which was set up and is regulated by the Law Society of Northern Ireland.

Ronnie now concentrates his expertise as a key member of our Litigation Department, representing clients at all levels of the Court system throughout the province, and in particular is known as a specialist in acting for leading national road traffic insurers in defending claims.

In his spare time Ronnie is a huge fan of football and rugby and a regular attender at Northern Ireland football and Ulster Rugby matches. He also enjoys cooking and DIY.
