A graduate of Queen’s University Belfast, Reg attained his LL.B (Hons) in 1988 and completed his Certificate in Professional Legal Studies in 1990. He was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Northern Ireland in October 1990.
His academic achievements include being awarded the Foundation Scholarship by the Faculty of Law at Queen’s University Belfast in 1986 and the Robert McD Coulter Bursary by the Council of the Law Society of Northern Ireland in 1990.
Reg has developed a broad and distinguished legal career, with extensive experience in both civil and criminal litigation. He has acted in a wide range of personal injury matters including road traffic accidents, employer liability, occupier liability, and public liability claims, in both the County Court and High Court of Northern Ireland.
In the criminal sphere, Reg has considerable experience representing clients at both Magistrates’ and Crown Court levels.
Reg has held several prominent positions within the legal profession. He served as Chair of the Belfast Solicitors Association in 2011 and was a member of the Law Society Council of Northern Ireland from 2017 to 2022. He also chaired the Law Society’s Client Complaints Committee from 2018 to 2022. In 2018, he contributed to the Judicial Studies Board’s fifth edition of the Guidelines for the Assessment of General Damages in Personal Injury Cases in Northern Ireland, under the chairmanship of Lord Justice Stephens.
Outside of work, Reg is a keen runner and enjoys playing badminton.
